In as much as we do believe the Apostles Doctrine, we aim to glorify God our Saviour. For he so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, Jesus Christ. He gave himself for us that we may be redeemed from all iniquity and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good work. We do take in hand to set forth in order, a declaration of those things which were practiced and preached by the Apostles.
It is our solemn duty set forth by God that we hold firm unto the end, the former Apostle's standard and doctrine. We must earnestly contend for the faith that was once delivered unto the Saints. God's people must be warned, not to be led away with the error of the wicked and fall from their own steadfastness, but be diligent. For those things which are not of God are of this world. The world shall pass away and the lust thereof, but he that does the will of God shall abide forever.
THE CHURCH: Is built upon the foundation of the Apostles and Prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the Chief Cornerstone. Ephesians 2:19-20; Acts 2:1, 47
GOD'S SALVATION STANDARD: We earnestly contend for God's standard of salvation. In the word of God we can find nothing short of a holy, spirit filled life with signs following as on the day of Pentecost. Acts 2:4, 8:14-17, 9:17-18, 10:44-48, 19:1-6; Mark 16:16-17; Hebrews 12:14; Matthew 5:48; I Peter 1:15-16; Romans 12:1
REPENTANCE AND REMISSION OF SINS: The only ground upon which God will accept a sinner is to repent from the heart for the sins which he has committed, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Peter fulfilled this command on the day of Pentecost. Acts 2:38 After Jesus proclaimed it, John preached it. Before Jesus ascended up high above all heavens, commanded that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name, beginning at Jerusalem. Luke 24:47; Psalms 51:17 A broken and contrite heart, God will not despise. Godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation. II Corinthians 7:10-11
NEW BIRTH: Ye must be born again of water and spirit or you cannot see nor enter the kingdom of heaven. John 3:1-7; Acts 2:1-4
NEW LIFE: Romans 6:1-10, 12:1; Hebrews 12:14; I Peter 1:13-16, 3:1-4; I Timothy 2:8-9; Isaiah 3:16-26
COMMUNION (THE LORD'S SUPPER): 26 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. 27 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; 28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. Matthew 26:26-28
For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.
I Corinthians 11:26 (I Corinthians 10:16; 11:23-32)
TITHES AND OFFERING: We believe in the Apostles principle and custom of financing the Church via Tithes and Offering. A tithe is the tenth of one's income. An offering is what is given of free will in honor and sacrifice to God, above one's tithes. Malachi 3:8-10; Matthew 23:23; Hebrews 7:5-10
WOMEN PREACHERS: We do not condone or believe in Women Preachers. 11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. 12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. 13 For Adam was first formed, than Eve. 14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
I Timothy 2:11-14
MARRIAGE AND DIVORCE: Whosoever putteth away his wife and marrieth another, committeth adultery. Whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband, committeth adultery. Mark 10:11-12; Luke 16:18; Romans 7:1-3 In no way do we condone divorce and remarriage. We hold firm that we have no right to add any thought of our own to such a plain statement, in order to justify taking another companion, while the first still liveth.
